"Songs from Ukraine"

This ensemble became a precursor of the "authentic music" trend in Ukraine and as first introduced the old and naturally severe rustic music to wider audience. Their music has not been adopted to any trends - in result we receive a very unique, original songs.
In its repertoire "Drewo" has many songs mainly from the central parts of Ukraine. In this region they search and find oldest and richest sounds and songs. The musicians sing a'capella and they always take care to perform each song as close to its prototype as possible. Finally Drewo became a teacher for other similar ensembles - one of them is Hilka.
